Boy Dies Picking Up Prize Wii
A 14-year-old boy from Scituate, Mass. died at a minor league hockey game Friday night while he was heading to pick up his Nintendo Wii that he had won in a raffle. It was “Revival Night,” an annual promotion held by the hockey teams to attract church congregants to the arena. The boy, being a member of the Word of Life Fellowship Christian outreach program, decided to stay after the game for the activities. That is when tragedy struck…
Here is an excerpt from the article:
The boy - who did not participate in the after-game competitions - won the raffle’s grand prize, a Nintendo Wii game console, according to [arena general manager Lawrence] Lepore. “He came down from the stands to get his prize and he either tripped or fell or collapsed,” Lepore said yesterday. The boy was taken by New England Ambulance to Hasbro Children’s Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
In a way, this sounds familiar to the story last year where the woman died trying to “hold her wee or a Wii”. Who would have guessed a year ago that two people would die trying to get their hands on a Wii. My prayers go out to all the familes effected by both of these stories. May both of them rest in peace.

I know it’s a mean thing to say, but thats actually kind of an awkward way to go.
Lol. Yea. I know. I mean…that really has to suck to trip and die just as you are going to win a Wii.
Heh, can you imagine that. One minute you’re on top of the world, next minute….
