Shiggy Talks About More Balance Board Games and Possible Sequels to Major Franchises

News From IGN.com:

Miyamoto is considering more Wii Balance Board Games.  Good news for anyone buying Wii Fit, at least there will be more support for the peripheral.  Then again, how many times have we heard that one?

Also, we may be seeing sequels to Galaxy and Zelda sometime in the future.  Damn, it’s a great time to be a gamer.

2007: The Casual Year For Games?

According to DFC Intelligence, (a bunch of video game analysts) 2007 sales showed a huge demand for casual gaming.  Not surprisingly, the Wii is what set it off.  Hey, as long as people are enjoying games, let it happen.  With more casual games, we see more gamers, and the demand for more games.  I know a lot of them will be casual games, but many will move on to the big franchises like Mario and Zelda.  Let’s hope so.

Cooking Mama Reaches 1.6 Million Units in U.S.

Jeff Bell of Microsoft Says Wii Owners May “Graduate” to 360

Microsoft’s Jeff Bell recently said in an interview with 1up.com that Wii owners may “graduate” to the Xbox360:

“We’re positioning ourselves to be ready if, in fact, gamers find they’re ready to graduate from a certain experience potentially with the Wii, either because it’s limited on the type of gameplay that’s available or the technology in that box,”

Doesn’t seem that the guy has any ill feelings towards the Wii; he just calls the console a different gaming experience.

Animal Crossing Wii Confirmed For Japan 2008

Ars technica reports that Japan is getting ‘Animal Crossing’ on the Wii.  They will be getting the game sometime this year.  I’m crossing my fingers and hoping for a US release in the near future.
